I just finished the book The Giver by Lois Lowry and I'm not sure what I think of the ending. I thought it left it up for you to decide how it ends and I didn't like that. Keaton somehow interpreted the ending with him dying, I like happier endings so I don't think he dies but I haven't decided how to make everything wonderful and okay. I'm really interested in what other people think so if you've read it and remember what happens you should let me know how you've interpreted it. Over all I really liked it. It made me thankful for my freedoms and all the things we have around us and take for granted. If you haven't read it I recommend it. It's a really easy read I read it in a day... and then you can let me know what you think happens.

The Giver is actually the first book in a trilogy-Jonas does not die at the end, but he is not the main character in the other books-but he does make appearances.
I only have read The Giver and I never thought he had died. I really thought he found a different place, the place he was looking for. I'd heard awhile ago there were more books. I'm interested in reading them.
